About Robyn Skinner

Leap-Frogging in Amman, Jordan

Traveling before she could walk and writing before she was completely aware of books, Robyn Skinner is both ardent voyager and enthusiastic wordsmith.

Born about 32-years ago on the 21-square-mile island of Bermuda to a very relieved mother (Robyn was two weeks late) Robyn was in Vancouver, Canada within a year. And while the reluctant infant might have initially held out on the world, very little has actually stopped her from exploring it since.

Between excursions and living abroad – including one year traveling around the world – Robyn has managed to:

- graduate from The University of Richmond with a Bachelors’ degree in English and Women’s Studies,

- get her Masters’ degree from the City College of New York in International Relations

- and become a Senior Journalist at Bermuda’s daily paper: The Royal Gazette

Since returning home from spending 2009 abroad, Robyn has decided to hack it on her own. She continues to write the Monday travel column, Rock Fever, for The Royal Gazette, while also working with other publications. These include Bermudian Business Magazine and Style Bermuda.

Robyn has also worked with Bermuda’s only Blues Band, Bones, to produce their Facebook page and copy for their events.

When she is not traveling, blogging on www.robynswanderings.com, writing about topics that vary from insurance to music, Robyn is also working on her book, taking her two dogs for walks and generally enjoying her country – Bermuda.
